Hochzeit / Wedding

Also passts schon !

Last Friday I was invited to a weeding. One of our Languagehelper's brother got married and we all got invited even though we didn't know him. But apparently that's how they do it here. Siblings can also invite their friends and it doesn't matter if you know the couple or not. So we all went. Actually it was more an After-Wedding-Party since the "real" wedding took place in Ghana.
At the invitation it said the party would start at 7pm. So we got there at arround 7pm but we were among the first ones. Little by little more people arrived and the couple itself arrived at 8:30. That's just how it is here... the strange thing is just that things not always start late. I still have to figure out when people expect you to be in time and when not.
Since I wanted to have a traditionall dress made anyways I could use this occasion to go for it. It turned out a bit different from what I expected but since I'm not planning on wearing it every day - it's allright : )
Anyways. After the couple arrived there were a few speaches and 2 songs preformed (which were really good) and after that everyone lined up to congratulated the new couple and to hand them our presents over. Once everyone shook their hands and had a photo taken we got some nice food to eat and enjoyed the fellowship...
