Guinea #2 - Das Krankenhaus / Guinee #2 - The Hospital

Was mich natürlich sehr interessiert hat und mit auch ein Grund warum ich nach Guinea gegangen bin, war das Krankenhaus im Dorf. Das es in dem Dorf jetzt ein Krankenhaus gibt, hat sich über die Jahre so entwickelt. Die Missionare die dort arbeiten haben mit einfacher Medizinischer Versorgung geholfen und jetzt wurde vor ein paar Jahren dort dieses Krankenhaus gebaut und es waren auch schon Ärzteteams aus Amerika da um den Leuten dort zu helfen, ansonsten wird das Krankenhaus von einem Arzt geführt, der noch 2 Helferinnen hat. Also wie ihr seht - schon eher beschränkt. Ich fand aber schön zu sehen, mit wie wenig man schon helfen kann. Mit ein paar Tabletten und ein wenig Verbandsmaterial. Mir wurde gesagt, dass die Leute früher gar keine Wahl hatten, wenn jemand krank wurde, also richtig krank, dann wurde drauf gewartet das die Person stirbt. Mehr konnte man nicht tun.

One of the most interesting things for me and one of the reasons I went on that trip in the first place was to see the Hospital out in the village. That they have hospital now developed over years. The missionaries who work there had started to help people out whenever they were sick and it became more and more obvious that the people need a medical facility. So some years ago 2007 - I believe this hospital was build and they even hosted medical teams who came from the States but normally there is one doctor and two helper who work there. To me it was amazing to see with how little you can help. They didn't really have a lot of medicine or dressing material but it already makes a difference. I was told that before people who got sick had no other chance than to wait that they'll die. There was nothing else they could do.

 Malariamedikament - muss 3 Tage lang genommen werden, wenns einen erwischt

Malariamedicine - you have to take for 3 days when you get it

 Der Medikamentenschrank - das ist so ziemlich alles was es an Medikamenten gibt...

  Der kleine Junge kam mit 40° C Fieber ... schön eingewickelt in ein Tuch und hatte 2!! T-shirts an...

Infizierter Fuß von einem alten Mann, der sich vor 4 Monaten einen Stock zwischen den Zehen hindurch gerammt hatte... ich hab Fotos von der vorherigen Wunde gesehen - jetzt sieht es schon super gut aus !!
