Eine verrückte Woche / A crazy week

Am Mittwoch geh ich in die Küche und will das Geschirr abwaschen... und was denkt ihr was ich im Waschbecken sehe? Richtig - Maden.... alles voller Maden. Ich weiss nicht wo sie herkamen, ich dachte zuerst aus dem Abfluss, aber es kann auch sein, dass sie vom Plastikdach runter kamen, weil irgendwelche Leute da Müll drauf werfen. Echt eklig !! Bei dem Versuch sie zu töten und wegzuspülen ist dann der Abfluss kaputt gegangen und das Wasser ist unten rausgelaufen - prima! Einfach nur eine ziemlich eklige Angelegenheit.

Am Abend dann, lieg ich im Bett und versuch einzuschlafen, was allerdings die letzten Tage, wegen der Hitze, nicht so einfach ist. Ausserdem haben gewisse Bauleute sich dazu entschlossen das leerstehende Haus, welches an unseres grenzt, abzureißen. Also lieg ich da und hör dem Bagger zu als ca. 0:20 Keyla leise ruft: " Ruth, bist du noch wach?" Da ich ja tatsächlich noch wach bin, steh ich also auf und geh zur Tür, wo mir Keyla erklärt, dass ein Stück von ihrer Schlafzimmerwand eingerissen wurde !! Sie und Guy wollten grade zu Bett gehn, da merkten sie dass ihr Schlafzimmer voller Staub ist und ein Loch in der Wand ist. Also haben sie die schlafenden Kinder gepackt und in Michis Zimmer gebracht, die gerade für eine Woche weg ist. Dann ist Guy raus gelaufen und hat den Bauleuten gesagt, dass sie aufhören müssen, da sie in unser Haus reinkommen. Zuerst wollten sie es nicht glauben, aber nachdem sie nach der Reihe in unsere Wohnung kamen und es mit eigenen Augen das große Loch gesehen hatten, habe sie nach langem hin und her erstmal die Arbeit eingestellt und wir sind schlafen gegangen.

Am nächsten Tag dann haben wir mit unseren Leitern hier gesprochen und mit dem Hausbesitzer und sie alle meinten, dass es lange dauern kann bis der Schaden repariert wird und wir deshalb umziehen müssen. Erstmal kommt durch das Loch ziemlich viel Staub rein, zweitens könnte auch jederzeit jemand ins Haus reinkommen und drittens, selbst wenn sie anfangen es zu reparieren, ist es gefährlich, da die Wand weiter einstürzen könnte. Also haben wir am Donnerstag all unsere Sachen zusammen gepackt und sich in eine leerstehende Wohnung umgezogen, die für Mitarbeiter freigehalten wird, die im September kommen. Michis Sachen haben wir schon zu ihrer neuen Wohnung gebracht und ich kann höchst wahrscheinlich ab Juli in meine neue Wohnung. Bis dahin wohn ich bei Keyla, Guy und den Kids : ) !

On Wednesday afternoon I went into the kitchen and want to do the dishes…. and what do you think I saw in the sink? Right – maggots…. the whole sink full of maggots. I don’t know where they came from. First I thought they crawled out of the drain but it could also be that they came down from the plastic roof since some people decide to throw their trash there. Disgusting! So when I tried to kill and flash them the drainpipe broke and the water came out below the sink – nice! All in all a really disgusting instance.

Than in the evening I’m lying in my bed and try to fall asleep, what isn’t very easy these last days since it’s really hot. A part from that, some construction worker decided to tear off the house that’s attached to ours. So I’m lying there and listen to the sound of the excavator when around 0:20 am Keyla silent calls: “Ruth, are you still awake?” Since I’m actually really still awake I got up and went to the door where Keyla explains to me that a part of their bedroom wall got damaged!! She and Guy just wanted to go to bed when they realized that their bedroom is full of dust and that there is a hole in their wall. So they took the sleeping kids and put them into Michi’s room, which left for a week. Than Guy went outside and told the workers  that they have to stop the work, because they get into our house. First they didn’t believe him but after they came inside and had a look themselves they stopped the work after a long discussion and we could go to bed. 

The next day we talked with the leaders here and with the landlord and all of them said that it can take a while until they will fix the house and that it would be better for us to move. First of all a lot of dust gets into the house and second someone can get into the house really easy and third, even if they really start to fix the hole it could be dangerous because the wall could break down even more. Therefore we packed all our stuff on Thursday and moved into an empty apartment that the mission keeps free for co-workers which will arrive in September. We brought Michi’s things to her new apartment already and I can move into my new apartment at July. Till than I’m living with Keyla, Guy and the Kids : )
