Im Osten Senegals / East Senegal

Seit letzter Woche bin ich nun schon hier "drüben" ;). Ich besuche eine Missionarin, die hier eine Zeit lang für das Gästehaus zuständig ist. Normalerweise arbeitet sie in einem Dorf und es ist sehr interessant zu hören, was sie dort schon alles erlebt hat und was in den vielen Jahre alles gelernt hat.

Since last week I'm "out here". I'm visiting a missionary who is in charge of the guesthouse for a while. Usually she works with her team in a village and it's really interesting to hear about all the experiences she made and all the things she could learn throughout the years. 

Ich bin mit einem so genannten "7-Sitzer" hier her gekommen... man geht einfach zu dem "Busbahnhof" und fragt dort wo die Autos sind die nach (in meinem Fall) Kedougou sind. Dann wird dir eine Richtung gezeigt und in die läufst du dann bis du es findest. Als ich ankam waren schon 5 Plätze vergeben, also mussten wir nur noch darauf warten, dass eine siebte Person kommt und schon konnte es los gehen. Wenn man die erste Person im Auto ist muss man natürlich ne ganze Weile warten - also hatte ich Glück. Wobei viele es nicht als Glück ansehen zu den letzten 3 zu gehören, weil man dann in der hintersten Reihe sitzt, die enger ist als die mittlere. ABER, der Vorteil ist, dass man seinen Kopf auf dem Gepäck hinter sich abstützen kann und nicht die ganze Fahrt über versuchen muss eine bequeme Sitzposition zu finden. Ach so... die Fahrt dauerte 9h - bis zu einer anderen großen Stadt, in der ich umsteigen musste und dann nochmal 4h bis ich in Kedougou ankam. Es lohnt sich also seinen Kopf anlehnen zu können ;) 

I came with a so-called "7-seater" over here ... you just go to the "bus station" and asks where the cars are that are (in my case) going to Kedougou. They'll point in one direction, so you keep walking in that direction till you'll find it. When I arrived there were already 5 places taken, so we only had to wait for a seventh person to come and we could go. If you're the first person in the car you must of course wait quite a while - so I was lucky. A lot of people wouldn't view being one of the last 3 as being lucky, because you are sitting in the back row, which is narrower than the middle BUT, the advantage is that you can rest your head on the luggage behind you and not having to try throughout the journey to find a comfortable seating position...which btw took 9h - up to another big city where I had to change cars and then again 4h until I arrived in Kedougou. So therefore it's worth to be able to lean on your head;)

Pfefferminze wächst hier wie Unkraut. Es riecht ganz lecker wenn man dran vorbei läuft. 

Peppermint grows here like weed. It smells really nice when you pass it.
