Perlenkette / pearl necklet

Patricia - die Tocher der Familie bei denen ich grad wohn und die ihr Zimmer mit mir teilt stellt aus dünnem Karton Perlen her - aus denen sie dann Halsketten und Ohrringe macht. Find ich voll cool. Den Schmuck verkauft sie dann und kann sich damit ein bischen Geld dazuverdienen.

Patricia - the daughter of my host family where I stay right now and share a room with makes really nice necklets and earrings out of cardboard. I think that's a really cool idea to make some extra money.

Zuerst zeichnet sie auf die Rückseite des Kartons

First she draws lines at the back of the cartboard...

Dann schneidet sies aus.

...than she cuts it.

Und dann werden die Streifen einzeln auf Zahnstocher aufgerollt und am ende zugeklebt.

And than she rolls each stripe at a toothpick

So sehn die Perlen dann aus. 

That's what the pearls look like.

Das ganze wird dann noch mit Kleister überzogen und zum trocknen in die Sonne gestellt. 

At the end they get a coat of varnish and have to sit in the sun for a while to dry.

Und - zack - hat man Perlen um Ketten zu machen :) 

So easy is it to get nice pearls to make necklets out of.
