Vor ca. 2 Wochen war Ryan mit 2 Männern aus unserer Leitung in der Volksgruppe, unter welcher wir arbeiten möchten um ihnen genau zu erklären, was wir machen möchten. Sie waren sehr erfreut, zu hören, dass wir zu ihren ziehen und ihre Sprache und Kultur lernen möchten. Es wurde uns gesagt, dass wir uns einfach umschauen sollen und uns aussuchen wo wir gerne bauen möchten.

About 2 weeks ago, Ryan went with 2 men from our leadership, in the ethnic group we want to work with, to explain exactly what we want to do. They were very pleased to hear that we would like to move to them and learn their language and culture. We were told that we should just look around and choose where we would like to build.

Eigentlich wollten wir schon letzte Woche raus ins Dorf fahren, um uns um zu sehen. Leider war der junge Mann, der uns begleiten sollte verhindert und so mussten wir die Fahrt verschieben. Vorgestern konnten wir dann aber raus fahren und uns ein wenig umschauen. Leider konnten wir noch nicht festlegen, wo wir bauen möchten, das es doch etwas komplizierter ist als gedacht.

We had planed to go out to the village last week to have a look. Unfortunately, the young man who was supposed to go with us couldn't go, so we had to postpone the trip. Last Saturday we were able to make it out there and have a look. Unfortunately, we have not been able to make a final decision on where we want to build, since it's a bit more complicated than expected.

Unterwegs ins Dorf. Ca. 5 Stunden Fahrt auf nicht gerade ebener Straße.

Chilli Schoten liegen in der Sonne um zu trocknen.

Der Mann war gerade dabei diesen Zaun zu flechten, als wir vorbei kamen.

That man was about to work on that fance as we walked by.

Hier ist eine der drei Wasserquellen. Die Leute kommen hier her um sich zu waschen, ihre Wäsche zu machen oder um Wasser zu holen fürs kochen und trinken.

This is one of the three water sources. The people come her to take a shower, do their laundry or to get water for cooking and drinking.

Auf dem Weg ins Dorf haben wir am Straßenrand einige dieser Boote gesehen, die gerade gemacht wurden. Sieht so aus, als wäre dies der Monat um Boote herzustellen :)

On our way to the village we saw a few newly made boats lying on the side of the road. Seem as if this it the time of year to make a boat :)

Die Kinder laufen gerne mit uns mit, während wir uns alles anschauen.

The kids like to walk around with us, while we visit the different places.

Dieser Junge ist dabei Erdnüsse zu mahlen. Das Resultat ist Erdnussbutter :D

Auf diesem unteren Bild kann man eines der Grundstücke sehen, auf dem wir eventuell bauen könnten. Es ist schwierig sich vorzustellen, wie es aussehen wird, wenn das Land gerodet ist und ein Haus darauf steht.

On the picture below you can see one of the spots where we could eventually build our houses. It's hard to imagine what it will look like once the land is cleared and a house is build.

In dem Dorf wachsen mega coole Bäume. Ich weiß gar nicht was für eine art von Bäumen es ist. Aber echt beeindruckend...

They have pretty cool trees out there. I don't even know what kind of tree they are, but they are impressive.

Unsere Gastgeberin. Bei ihr und ihrem Mann haben wir übernachtet und sie hat uns mit allem versorgt was nötig ist, obwohl sie mit ihrem 6. Kind schwanger ist.

Our hostess. We stayed at her (and her husbands house) and she took really good care of us, even though she's pregnant with her 6th child.

Beim Frühstück. Es gab sowas ähnliches wie Milchreis, aber mit Zitronen Geschmack. Klingt zwar komisch, schmeckt aber ganz gut.

Eating breakfast. We got something like Milk rice, but with a lemon taste. Sounds a bit weird, but actually tastes alright.

Eine Toilette mit ziemlich niedrigem Zaun :D Wer genau hinschaut erkennt die weiße Stelle, wo das Loch ist um hinein zu pinkel :). Ich glaub der Zaun wurde vom Regen zerstört und noch nicht wieder aufgebaut. Das letzte mal als wir dort waren, war er auf jeden Fall höher...

A Bathroom with a pretty low fence :D If you look carefully you can see the white spot, which is the whole in the ground to pee into :) I think the fence got destroyed by the rain and they didn't have the time yet to fix it. The last time we were there, it was certainly higher than that...
